About Serge

Serge Kalloghlian is a lawyer in the Toronto office of Siskinds LLP with a focus on class proceedings. Serge has acted for plaintiffs in product liability, medical device, human rights, and securities class actions. He has appeared as counsel at all levels of Ontario’s Courts, and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Serge’s practice is focused on representing investors in securities class actions and other shareholder rights litigation. Serge was counsel in Silver v Imax and involved with precedent-setting decisions defining the application of limitation periods under the Securities Act, as well as the manner in which parallel cross-border class actions may be settled.

Serge has experience prosecuting securities class actions involving companies that have obtained protection under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, including the Fortier v Cash Store class action (in which nearly $14 million was recovered for the class members) and the Labourers v Sino Forest class action (in which a record-setting settlement of $117 million was secured with one of Sino-Forest’s auditors).

Serge is also counsel in Lavender v Miller Bernstein, an auditor’s negligence class action where the class obtained summary judgment on liability common issues.
