The class actions team at Siskinds LLP has been ranked in the top band of the Chambers Canada 2020 guide, issued by international legal research organization, Chambers and Partners. The firm was credited with consistently winning praise among interviewees, with sources noting: “It has always had very strong lawyers and is at the top of its game.”

Also of notable achievement was the inclusion of four partners who were recognized for their individual stature in the field of class actions. Commentary from the guide includes the following accolades for these partners:

Charles Wright is 1 of only 3 lawyers in Canada placed in Band 1 and “acclaimed for the “instrumental” role he plays in plaintiff-side class action files and for his experience handling national claims.” He is particularly well known for his work in competition class actions. Sources described Charles as being “in a category of his own for his intelligence, capabilities and reasoning.”

Michael Robb was noted as impressing people with his excellent work representing plaintiffs in class action files. One source elaborated: “He is a seasoned and smart lawyer that knows the securities space very well.”

Linda Visser is was noted as being particularly well known for “her skilled handling of class actions relating to price fixing.”

Sources acknowledged that Daniel Bach has “stepped into his own as an established class actions lawyer” in the Canadian class actions Bar. He is “well recommended for his leadership in securities, medical device and consumer class actions.”

Siskinds LLP is also the highest ranked Canadian law firm and the 16th ranked North American law firm in the most recent edition of the Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) Securities Class Action Services Top 50 Report. The report lists the top 50 plaintiff-side law firms ranked by the total dollar value of the final class action settlements occurring in 2017 in which the law firm served as lead or co-counsel.

The Siskinds LLP class actions team has offices in London and Toronto, and an affiliate office in Québec City. The team, comprised of 25 lawyers admitted to practice in Ontario, Quebec, New York State and the District of Columbia, acts exclusively for plaintiffs and has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for class members in Canada and abroad.
