Henry Berg Listed in Best Lawyers since 2012.
Henry graduated from the University of Western Ontario Law School in 1974 and was called to the Bar in 1976. Since that time he has practiced business law in London. Henry was one of the founding partners of Berg, Kennedy, Cleaver, Broad LLP, formed in 1983, which merged with Siskinds in 2002. Henry’s practice is focused on assisting a diverse mix of owner-managed private corporations and professional corporations (including doctors, dentists, chartered accountants and lawyers) throughout Ontario. Recent professional activity has included assisting with the sales of corporate enterprises and divisions, credit financing for a large national private corporation, asset based and share based purchases, inter-generational transitions of businesses, succession planning and high net-worth planning. Throughout his career, Henry has  given back to the profession though teaching in the Bar Admission Course and continuing education sessions. He has also been active in the community, serving on numerous boards, committees and advisory groups.

Henry has been named to the Best Lawyers in Canada List for Corporate Law since 2012. Henry has been voted Lawyer of the Year in 2014 for Corporate Law in the London/Windsor area.

James Caskey QC Listed in Best Lawyers since 2006.
A partner with Siskinds, Jim was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1963. He received his education at the University of Toronto (B.A. 1958) and Osgoode Hall (LL.B. 1961), and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1979. Jim is a senior member of our General Litigation group and is recognized and highly respected throughout Ontario as a premier trial lawyer and litigation strategist. He was recently named a Life Member of the Law Society of Upper Canada in recognition of his 50 years of outstanding service to Ontario’s Litigation Bar.

Jim has been named in the Best Lawyers in Canada List since 2006 for Personal Injury Litigation, Insurance Law, and Corporate & Commercial Litigation. In 2012, Jim was also named in Best Lawyers as Personal Injury Litigation Lawyer of the Year for London/Windsor, as well as Lawyer of the Year in 2013 for Corporate and Commercial Litigation in London/Windsor area.

Scott Ritchie QC Listed in Best Lawyers since 2006.
Scott was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1967 and received his education at the University of Western Ontario (H.B.A. 62) and Osgoode Hall (LL.B. 65). He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1984. He joined Siskinds in 1969 and has been a partner since 1971. Scott has been named to the Best Lawyers in Canada list since 2006 for Malpractice Law, Personal Injury Litigation, Insurance Law, Corporate and Commercial Litigation, Class Action Litigation and Product Liability Law. Scott was also named in Best Lawyers as Class Action Litigation Lawyer of the Year for London/Windsor 2012 and Best Lawyer as Product Liability Law London/Windsor 2013.

Scott was awarded with the Middlesex Law Association’s Distinguished Service Award in 2011 which recognized his exceptional career and contributions to the legal profession in Middlesex County and significant law-related benefit to the residents of Middlesex County.

Andre Michael Listed in Best Lawyers since 2006.
André Michael, a partner with Siskinds LLP since 1993, was called to the Bar in 1988. Born and raised in Antigua in the West Indies, André graduated from De La Salle College in Toronto in 1980 and received his B.A. (Psychology and Economics) in 1983 and his LL.B. in 1986 from the University of Western Ontario in London. André articled and practiced at the litigation firm, Haines, Livingstone, establishing an interest in medical malpractice that he continued to develop after he joined Siskind, Cromarty, Ivey & Dowler LLP in 1990. André has a special interest and extensive experience in representing adults and children who have suffered brain and spinal cord injuries.

André has been named in the Best Lawyers in Canada List since 2006 for Personal Injury Litigation and Medical Malpractice.

Jim Mays Listed in Best Lawyers since 2012.
Jim earned both his B.Sc. (Computer Science, 1982) and his LL.B. (1985) at the University of Western Ontario. After successfully completing the bar admission course he was admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1987. Since then, he has practiced at Siskinds LLP and has been a partner since 1992. Jim is a litigator who represents both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury and insurance cases. He has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and has had cases reviewed by the Supreme Court of Canada.

Jim has been named to the Best Lawyers in Canada listing since 2012 and is also certified as a Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Upper Canada.

Jim Virtue Listed in Best Lawyers since 2013.
Jim was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1977. He received his education at the University of Western Ontario (B.A. 72); (LL.B. 75). He joined Siskinds in 1979 and became a partner in 1981.

From 1981 – 1992, Jim was an adjunct professor for Trial Advocacy at the University of Western Ontario Law School. He was also an instructor for the Bar Admission Course, Civil Procedure and Trial Advocacy and a workshop and seminar instructor for Advocate’s Society in Trial Advocacy techniques.

Jim has been named to the Best Lawyers in Canada List for Insurance Law for 2013.
