Mediation is a mechanism whereby parties that are adverse in interest have agreed to come to the table with their issues and participate in a negotiated resolution supervised by a third party mediator. The success of mediation will depend, in large part, on the desire of the parties to reach a resolution.
Parties may choose to participate in mediation or they may be obligated to mediate disputes by contract. Mediation is also a mandatory step in court proceedings in some jurisdictions.

A successful Mediation requires the mutual desire of both parties to reach a resolution. A properly qualified mediator can often provide assistance to adverse parties in resolving disputes.

We have had a high level of success in participating in, and resolving disputes through the mediation process.

I had a great experience with John Morrissey and his team at Siskinds. I was in a same sex common law relationship and required his help with a dependent support claim. John made my first time experience dealing with a lawyer an easy one. He was very knowledgeable and he and his law clerk Adam were always available to answer any questions or concerns I may have. I would highly recommend John and his entire team at Siskinds. - R.S.

Elena Ashford was recommended to us by Mary Lou Brady and was really wonderful. We contacted Elena initially from the States and had a couple conversations with over the course of more than a year. Angela Belair was our day-to-day contact, and she was also phenomenal. They were exceptionally efficient, communicative, and organized. A real joy to work with, and made what could be a very stressful, fraught process smooth and stress-free.- T.B.

I want to thank Andrea [Cooley] so much for all her care, concern, work, expertise and wisdom that she gave over the last few months. A separation is something I did not really want to go through, but with Andrea's help I am thankful that I was able to get it all figured out and finished up. I am very happy that it is done, and I can move forward. - L.D.
