Kimco Steel Sales Limited, which operates a Kingston waste transfer site, was fined $25,000 plus a victim fine surcharge of $6,250 for depositing auto fluff on an illegal dump site.

Auto fluff is a non-hazardous waste left from shredding a vehicle after the metal has been salvaged for recycling. Proper handling of end of life vehicles is a serious challenge in Ontario, something the province keeps saying it’s going to do something about.
