The entire team at Siskinds LLP is looking forward to welcoming Paula and Kirsten into our municipal and environmental practice group. Paula and Kirsten will be based out of Siskinds Toronto office. Having lived in Toronto for more than twenty years and having started my legal career at a Bay Street law firm, I am especially excited about this opportunity to expand our group.
As a partner in the environmental law group, I bring a wide range of experience in the environmental law field. I act regularly for both public and private sector clients. I have been involved in numerous environmental assessments, the import and export of goods, transportation and disposal of hazardous materials, remediation of contaminated sites, construction of large infrastructure projects, regulatory compliance, and NAFTA matters. I also regularly provide due diligence advice; deal with contamination issues; obtain environmental approvals; acquire planning and development approvals; defend environmental prosecutions; and assist companies with environmental and regulatory compliance. I also appear before numerous administrative tribunals and the courts on both municipal and environmental matters. For two years I also acted as in-house counsel with the Ambassador Bridge which presented many complex environmental legal questions.
