The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Class is for skilled workers with Canadian work experience who wish to become permanent residents.

In order to be eligible to apply, an applicant must have the following to qualify:

  • Must have at least 1 year of full-time skilled work experience in Canada (or equivalent part-time experience) in a NOC TEER categories 0, 1, 2 or 3 within the 3 years before you apply (self-employment and work experience gained while you were a full-time student do not count under this program).
  • Must have gained your work experience in Canada with the proper authorization.
  • Must pass language test with a score of CLB 7 (for NOC TEER 0 or 1 jobs), or CLB 5 (for NOC TEER 2 or 3 jobs) in all 4 abilities (listening, reading, writing, speaking) – the test must be taken through either IELTS, CELPIP, or TEF.
  • Must meet the general admissibility requirements.
