A surprisingly large part of my practice involves suing engineers and other environmental consultants for their negligence and breach of contract relating to contaminated sites. For example, I am spending much of August in continued discoveries of Earth Tech (Canada), now AECOM Canada, for their alleged mishandling of a TCA contaminated site in Scarborough, Ontario. Earth Tech claimed that they had unique expertise and would remediate this contamination in situ, in six months, using, primarily, potassium permanganate.  To read the key allegations against them, click Sisma Statement of Defence and Counterclaim. None of the allegations have yet been proved in court.
