Thank you to everyone who sponsored me for today’s bike Ride for Heart. Heart disease and stroke is the leading cause of death in Ontario, and is responsible for 1 of 3 deaths per year across Canada. Our family was very proud to make a contribution to stroke prevention and treatment research.
And we had a wonderful time. We rode about 100 km- mostly up and down the Don Valley Parkway with about 15,000 happy people. It’s so exciting to surge up the smooth pavement on two wheels, freewheeling down the big hills with people whooping and hollering in delight. And I was very proud riding back under the great silent blades of the ExPlace wind turbine, turning again as it should.
