According to news reports, Dalton McGuinty’s Liberals will promise next week to introduce a province-wide ban of household cosmetic pesticides, if they are re-elected in October.
Following two precedent-setting court cases, numerous municipalities, including Toronto and London, have already banned the cosmetic use of pesticides. People with dandelions or crabgrass in their lawns have to dig them out, kill them with heat or learn to live with them.
he use of pesticides to protect crops, to protect human health and to prevent property damage is not affected by these bans.
