Shelby Cruz

Shelby earned her Bachelor of Arts in 2017 from Western University, Masters of International Affairs from Carleton University in 2019, and her Juris Doctor from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) in 2024. Shelby was called to the bar in 2025.

During law school, Shelby was an engaged member of the law school community serving as the two-term President of the Technology Law Society, and an active member of the Moot Team. Shelby was awarded Top Applicant  in Toronto Metropolitan University’s Hicks Morely Labour and Employment Moot and competed in the Adam Fanaki Competition Law Moot. During her Masters, Shelby placed 2nd in the world at the NATO Debates in Brussels Belgium, competing on the only Canadian team to advance. Her commitment to leadership continued through her term as the President of the Women Working in International Security Society. In undergrad, Shelby served as the Director of Programming for the Early Outreach Conference, a 3 day event introducing approximately 250 lower income youth in London to post-secondary education opportunities.

Shelby enjoys serving on the Siskinds’ Student Ambassador team, a group of Associates dedicated to supporting Siskinds’ student recruitment efforts.

Shelby brings a strategic and client-focused approach to her legal practice,  with a commitment to clear, effective communication. She approaches every matter with professionalism and precision, working collaboratively with her colleagues to craft practical, results-driven solutions. Shelby is dedicated to guiding clients through complex legal challenges with confidence and compassion, ensuring their needs remain at the forefront of every decision.

Outside of work, Shelby is heavily involved in the Portuguese community and enjoys musical theatre and performing arts.
