Alec provides valued business law advice and exceptional service to business law clients, both with respect to “bet the company” transactions and for their day-to-day commercial needs. His expertise includes banking, contract negotiation, corporate finance, joint ventures and partnerships, leasing, licensing, manufacturing, distribution, secured transactions, shareholder agreements and swap agreements and derivative transactions. His clients include large national corporations, utilities and smaller owner-operated businesses.
Alec graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1982 and received his LL.M from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom in 1985. While at Cambridge, he was awarded the Fitzwilliam College Prize and the Senior Scholarship.
Alec joined our Business Law Group in March 2006. Prior to joining the Siskinds team, he was a Partner in the national law firm of McCarthy Tétrault LLP. Alec began his legal career with Macleod Dixon LLP (now part of Norton Rose Canada LLP), one of the leading firms in Calgary, Alberta, practicing there for five years.
