Dianne spoke last month at the annual Canadian Water and Wastewater Association “Window on Ottawa”, on potential risks to municipalities of the new Wastewater Systems Effluent Regulations under the Fisheries Act, expected to appear shortly in the Canada Gazette. Bottom line, the significant (and unnecessary) liability risks created by the 2010 draft regulations were not corrected in the latest draft of the regulations that I have seen. However, Environment Canada says there may be some improvements in the final regulations, once published.

Here is a copy of the presentation: DSS at CCWA, Nov 25 2011 on wastewater effluent regs.
