Ingram Asphalt Inc. was fined $65,000 plus victim fine surcharges of $16,250 for discharging dust and particulate adversely impacting the surrounding environment and community. The company failed to notify the ministry of the dust emissions and did not comply with conditions of a ministry order.

The company operates a hot mix asphalt facility in the City of Toronto, which was the subject of numerous complaints and Ministry of the Environment inspections.Neighbours were also concerned about ash-like material from the facility which covered the ground and nearby cars. The Ministry ordered the company to retain a consultant to assess its operations and emissions. Parts of the ministry’s order were not complied with.
