The class actions team at Siskinds LLP has been ranked in the top band of the Chambers Canada 2019 guide, issued by international legal research organization, Chambers and Partners. Also of notable achievement was the inclusion of four partners who were recognized for their individual stature in the field of class actions. Commentary from the guide includes the following accolades for these partners:

Charles Wright is considered one of the “most effective business people” in the Canadian plaintiff class actions space, and stands out for his skill in the preparation, strategy and negotiation aspects of an action. Sources consider him “a strategic leader” of “very high calibre,” with one commentator adding: “He’s very good in the development and settling of cases.” He has acted on significant cases in competition, product liability and securities.

Michael Robb is considered “very strong” counsel on the plaintiff side, and is well known for his activity in securities, investment fraud and product liability actions. He also offers experience in cases concerning environmental contamination.

Linda Visser is very active in plaintiff matters across the class actions market, particularly in the area of competition. Market commentators consider her a “very good” and “thorough” lawyer, and among “the next generation of partners at the firm.”

Daniel Bach “punches above his weight” in class action litigation, and is “beginning to take a leading role” in significant matters. He is appraised as an “extremely bright, ethical and energetic” lawyer, and is focused on securities, consumer and medical device actions.

Siskinds LLP is also the highest ranked Canadian law firm and the 16th ranked North American law firm in the most recent edition of the Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) Securities Class Action Services Top 50 Report. The report lists the top 50 plaintiff-side law firms ranked by the total dollar value of the final class action settlements occurring in 2017 in which the law firm served as lead or co-counsel.

The Siskinds LLP class actions team has offices in London and Toronto, and an affiliate office in Québec City. The team, comprised of 25 lawyers admitted to practice in Ontario, Quebec, New York State and the District of Columbia, acts exclusively for plaintiffs and has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for class members in Canada and abroad.
