Tequin (gatifloxacin) is an antibiotic typically prescribed to treat pneumonia and other infections including those of the bladder, urinary tract and sinuses and for sexually transmitted diseases. Recent studies suggest that in a certain number of people, ingesting Tequin often results in being treated in emergency departments or hospitalized for blood sugar disorders.

A settlement has been reached with the Defendants which has been approved by both the Ontario and Quebec Courts. The deadline to file a claim under the settlement was February 27, 2009. This settlement has concluded and all claims have been paid.
