Two companies and their directors were fined $299,999 (including the 25% victim fine surcharge) after pleading guilty to dumping construction waste on an unlicenced site in Mississauga, and failing to clean it up.
Construction waste was deposited at 2380 Loreland Avenue. The property is owned by 1509439 Ontario Inc. of which Paul Wynn is the sole director. Jeffrey Wynn is a director of a related company known as the Wynn Family Properties that leased the Loreland Avenue property to Global Haulage Inc. of which Philip Pinheiro is a director.
Paul and Jeffrey Wynn along with 1509439 Ontario Inc. were convicted of failing to comply with a ministry clean up order by failing to remove the waste and submit related documentation. Global Haulage Inc. and Philip Pinheiro were convicted of depositing waste on an unapproved site. Global Haulage Inc. was convicted of failing to remove the waste as required by the ministry.
The convictions are as follows: Global Haulage Inc. was fined $95,000; Philip Pinheiro was fined $25,000; 1509439 Ontario Inc. was fined $75,000; Jeffrey Wynn was fined $30,000; and, Paul Wynn was fined $14,999. A victim fine surcharge of an additional 25 per cent is also payable on all of the fines.
The court issued orders that the property be cleaned up and any future use be approved by the ministry.
