AODA

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”) became law in 2005. As part of that law, every organization that provides goods or services to the public or to third parties and that has at least one employee in Ontario must be in compliance with the AODA’s Accessibility Standards for Customer Service (the "Customer Service Standards") by January 1, 2012.

You are not too late! Join Mary Lou Brady of Siskinds Law Firm, who will provide the knowledge and policy templates necessary to help you ensure that your organization is compliant.

REGISTRATION FEE:

  • If register by September 30, 2011, early bird fee of $275 for first participant; $175 for each subsequent participant from same organization.
  • If register after September 30, 2011, regular fee of $300 for first participant; $200 for each subsequent participant from same organization.

H.S.T. will be added to registration fee.

WHAT DOES THIS FEE INCLUDE?

  • Attendance at Initial Overview Seminar, where you will learn about:
    • Overview of the AODA;
    • Understanding the Customer Service Standard; and
    • What is required to comply with each Customer Service Standard.
  • Draft template policies, and links to various approved resources available, to assist with AODA compliance;
  • Optional attendance at three follow-up interactive workshops.

Optional Interactive Workshops (if interested, choose one of each of the following workshop sessions upon registration). Prior to each workshop, registered participants will have an opportunity to submit questions to be addressed, time permitted, at that workshop.

Workshop #1 – Discussion will focus on issues relating to the preparation of your policies, practices and procedures in compliance with the Customer Service Standards

If you would like to participate in this program, but are unable due to location, dates, times or other reasons, please click here. Your feedback will assist in determining whether we can otherwise meet your AODA compliance needs (i.e. by way of adding a teleseminar, additional sessions, etc.).

CANCELLATION POLICY

Full refund if cancellation occurs on or before September 30, 2011. If cancellation after September 30, 2011, registration fee is non-refundable but is transferrable. To send someone in your place, kindly forward an email to Nicole English with details, including the substitute person's name and email address.

Please note: If insufficient interest in program, Siskinds retains the right to notify registrants of cancellation of one or more of the sessions by October 7, 2011. Siskinds will provide full refund to registrants whose sessions have been cancelled in such event.
