Scott was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1967 and received his education at the University of Western Ontario (H.B.A. 62) and Osgoode Hall (LL.B. 65). He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1984. He joined Siskinds in 1969 and was a partner from 1971 to 2017.
In October 2012, Scott was awarded with the Lexpert Zenith Award honouring lawyers who have been change agents for their clients, firms and communities for forty or more years.
Scott was awarded with the Middlesex Law Association’s Distinguished Service Award on November 17th, 2011 which recognized his exceptional career and contributions to the legal profession in Middlesex County and significant law-related benefit to the residents of Middlesex County.
Scott has been named to the Best Lawyers in Canada list since 2006 for Malpractice Law, Personal Injury Litigation, Insurance Law, Corporate and Commercial Litigation, Class Action Litigation and Product Liability Litigation. Since 2008 he has been named to the Lexpert/ALM Directory for leading 500 Lawyers in Canada. Scott was also named in Best Lawyers as Class Action Litigation Lawyer of the Year for London/Windsor 2012 and Best Lawyer as Product Liability Law London/Windsor 2013. Scott was named to 2012 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory as a Leading Practitioner.
Scott was also named to Lexpert’s list of leading litigators in their Globe and Mail insert “”Report on Business Special Edition: Litigation”” in December 2012. Also in 2012 Scott was named to Lexpert’s 2012 Guide to the Leading US/Canada Cross-Border Litigation Lawyers in Canada (December 202).
