Siskinds LLP filed a proposed class action against General Motors (“GM”) and Bosch alleging that illegal defeat devices were installed in certain Chevy Silverado 2500 or 3500 vehicles model years 2011-2016, GMC Sierra 2500 or 3500 vehicles model years 2011-2016, and Chevrolet Cruze vehicles model years 2014-2015.

Siskinds is of the opinion that the proposed GM and Bosch class proceeding is no longer viable, and the representative plaintiff no longer wishes to pursue the claim against GM and Bosch. On this basis, Siskinds sought and obtained the approval of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice to dismiss the proposed class proceeding.

The limitation period for bringing any potential claim related to the issues raised in the proposed class proceeding, if there is any time left within it, will recommence on April 7, 2022. On the expiry of the limitation period, any right you may have to sue over these matters may be extinguished. Limitation periods vary across Canada.
