Mike is a partner with Siskinds LLP in London, Ontario and a past member of the Firm's Board of Directors. He took his B.A. at the University of Western Ontario and his LL.B at the University of Victoria. Since his call to the bar in 1993, Mike’s practice has been focused on class actions and other complex multi-party litigation. He has experience in a variety of substantive areas of law, including products liability, anti-competitive activity, commercial disputes, securities, financial services liability, environmental damage, consumer fraud, pharmaceutical products and medical devices cases. Mike has been named in the Best Lawyers in Canada List since 2006 for Class Action Litigation. He acts for both plaintiffs and defendants, has practised before all levels of the courts in Ontario, including trial and appellate courts and has been counsel in the courts of various other provinces.
Mike has published and spoken extensively on class actions and complex litigation. He has presented papers and participated in many programs presented by the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Advocates' Society, and private organizations. He is the co-author of Butterworths’ Class Actions Law and Practice.
As a past member of the Firm’s Board of Directors, Mike has taken a keen interest in development of technology, especially as it relates to the efficient delivery of legal services to clients and the management of large classes of plaintiffs.
He is an avid sailor and has cruised and raced sailboats around the world. In addition, he is a runner, cyclist, and swimmer, and has competed in hundreds of running races and triathlons around North America, including the Chicago, New York, Corning, Boston, Tucson and New Orleans Marathons, along with Ironman Canada, Ironman Austria and the Hawaii Ironman.
