Jim Mays

Jim Mays is a partner with Siskinds and has been certified as a specialist in Personal Injury by the Law Society of Upper Canada since 2011. Jim earned both his B.Sc. (Computer Science, 1982) and his LL.B. (1985) at the University of Western Ontario. He was called to the bar in 1987. Since his call, he has practiced at Siskinds LLP and has been a partner since 1992.

Jim is a litigator who represents both Plaintiffs and Defendants in personal injury and insurance cases. Jim has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and has had cases reviewed by the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also appeared before various tribunals including FISCO, WSIAT, and CPP.
 

Jim was a member of the Firm’s Board of Directors from 1998-2011. He is a past president of the Middlesex Law Association (2000) and a past National and Provincial Council member for the Canadian Bar Association.
 

Jim has been certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a specialist in Civil litigation, Jim  has been awarded a peer review rating of BV Distinguished by Martindale-Hubbell. Such a rating reflects the confidential opinions of Jim's peers and the judiciary and attests to his legal ability and professional ethics. Jim has also been named to the Best Lawyers in Canada List for both Insurance Law and Personal Injury Litigation.

When he’s not at work Jim and his wife Sheila combine their effort to raise their four children, he both coaches (Level I certified) and plays basketball, and has coached (Level II certified) soccer for over 14 years. The Mays family likes skiing in the winter and spending as much time as possible, year round, on Georgian Bay.
