Dan MacKeigan

Dan received his Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Guelph and his Law Degree from the University of Western Ontario. Recognized as a tenacious advocate, Dan's main focus is Commercial Litigation and he has experience in various provinces across Canada.

As a Partner with the Firm, Dan has extensive experience in matters involving franchise termination, interim and permanent injunctions, enforcement of restrictive covenants and other time sensitive matters and in the development of franchise systems. Dan also represents shareholders and companies in a variety of shareholder rights issues. Having represented both Franchisors and Franchisees in Litigation, he understands that franchisors are not in the business of litigation and therefore brings a results-oriented approach to franchise litigation. He is the current editor of the Franchise Law Newsletter.

Dan has successfully represented clients in both tribunal and court settings and has won cases in various courts including The Superior Court of Justice, The Divisional Court, The Court of Appeal of Ontario and The Federal Court of Canada.
