Anna Szczurko

Anna is an associate in the Personal Injury Group, dealing primarily with instances of negligence and the related aspects of insurance law. Anna is committed to helping individuals and their families when they are often at their most vulnerable, whether injured from a motor vehicle accident, a slip and fall or dealing with a fire loss claim. Anna has represented clients before the Superior Court of Justice, the Federal Court, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Canadian Pension Appeals Board and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal.
 
Anna graduated from the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law in 2008 and completed her articles at Siskinds. While at law school, Anna was involved with Pro Bono Students Canada as a team leader and researcher. She also worked as a research assistant in the area of employment law. At law school, Anna competed in several moot competitions. She was the recipient of the Greg Monforton Award at the 2007 OTLA Cup. Anna Szczurko partnered with Katherine Ayre at the BLG Client Counseling Competition, moving through the regional competitions to represent Canada at the international American Bar Association competition in Cardiff, Wales in April of 2006. Anna continues to participate in moot competitions as a judge and mentor to current law students. Prior to her law degree, Anna completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Guelph with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy.
 
Anna is active with a number of local organizations and community groups. She is an avid equestrian making the transition from hunter/jumper to eventing. Anna is fluent in Ukrainian.
